    Marten Treffers

    Position
    Interim Country Director

    Marten Treffers is an interim Country Director for Cordaid in Ethiopia. He is a Dutch citizen, married, and have three children. He worked for many years in several countries, both in development and humanitarian. As an architect by profession, there was often a link to the built environment, but the people’s side has always been his preferred approach. He has been with Cordaid for over six years now, initially as a shelter expert in the humanitarian aid unit and later as an Operational Manager in the Programme Unit at Global Office. During the first quarter of last year, he was an interim Country Director for South Sudan. He filled that position again in Afghanistan between September till March 2022, after which he returned to the Programme Unit. He is happy to work again in one of Cordaid’s Country Offices and loves to better understand the challenges and successes in Ethiopia. In his spare time, he enjoys the theatre, music, and sports, and he is keen to meet new people.

    Hans has over 34 years of experience as a Chartered Accountant in audit, finance, change, and general management. He has worked for large multi-national organizations in both the profit, non-profit, and government across Africa, Asia, and Europe.  Hans is passionate about working with and advising organizations on strategy and subsequently delivering the intended results.

    Polite Dube

    Position
    Regional PBF and Health Technical Advisor

    Polite is seasoned Public Health professional and Results Based Financing Expert with 15 years’ experience in both INGOs and Government Health Sector. He has 9 years of experience in the field of Health Systems Strengthening & Strategic Purchasing specifically in Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Uganda and Liberia. He has strong experience of Results Based Financing programing both local and international levels.

    Ahmed Mohammed

    Position
    Humanitarian Programme Lead

    Ahmed is a professional with more than thirteen years practical experience in humanitarian and development assistance in Ethiopia. So far he successfully coordinated different programmes targeting vulnerable host communities, refugees, internally displaced people, returnees, and people with special needs. He is very enthusiastic about addressing issues related with women empowerment, youth sexual and reproductive health  and elders and people with disabilities.

    Workneh Bekele

    Position
    PBF Finance Officer

    Workneh is  a very well experienced  financial management and accounting professional with over 15 years of experience in INGOs, governmental organization. His experience includes  preparing  program budgets and producing financial manuals. He has been trained and experienced on PBF financial management in multiple Performance Based Financing projects within Cordaid on budgeting, costing, managing, controlling, and reporting to donor.

    Kalewongel has substantial worldwide youth leadership and empowerment experience, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. He has worked extensively in the private sector, youth engagement, and business development.

    Livelihood/Disaster Risk Management Programme Officer

    Illile Bekele is a dedicated programme personnel in coordination, partner management and implementation of humanitarian and development programmes for over ten years. She inherently appreciates to be there for people in difficult situations. Her interest is to contribute more to the areas of disaster management and resilience building that creates a safer condition for affected people.

    Grants and Partnerships Manager

    Frehiwot has more than 16 years of experience in working with non-governmental organizations. She applies her extensive grants and partnership management experience along with her local partner capacity building skills. She is passionate about identifying, developing and maintaining strong relationships with funders, local and international implementing partners and other relevant stakeholders.

    Shyvonne Henry

    Position
    Regional PMEAL Advisor and Manager Business Development and Communications

    Shyvonne works as PMEAL advisor to Cordaid Country Offices in the East and Southern Africa Regions. She supports country-based staff with capacity strengthening in PMEAL related areas and compliance with both internal and external PMEAL standards. She also provides supports in country to activities such evaluations and other assessments. In Ethiopia, Shyvonne leads the Business Development and Communications unit, which us responsible for coordinating and implementing all fundraising activities including relationship management, partner engagement, lead identification, proposal writing, and adherence to internal and external requirements. Shyvonne furthermore leads the implementation of Cordaid Ethiopia’s visibility strategy including content and media generation, management, publication and dissemination.

    Boboh Kamangira

    Position
    PBF Data Expert

    Boboh has eight years of experience in monitoring, evaluation and research of health systems strengthening programmes including HIV/AIDS, TB, cervical cancer and PBF. He is passionate about data science and data systems as applied in M&E and research, particularly in the public health space. He tends to focus more on the synthesis of evidence to support decision making and policy formulation. Boboh believes in measuring what matters.

    Eubert Vushoma

    Position
    PBF Expert

    Eubert Vushoma is the Performance Based Financing (PBF) expert responsible technical supporting PBF in health and education in Ethiopia. Eubert has a PGD Health Economics (UCT), MBA (UZ), and BSC Mathematics and Statistics (UZ). He joined Cordaid in Zimbabwe in 2013 and left briefly to join Oxford Policy Management (OPM) Nigeria in 2015 before re-joining Cordaid in 2018. He joined Cordaid Ethiopia in October 2021 from the Cordaid Sierra Leone Country office where he was based and leading the Liberia project office. Eubert has PBF experience in Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Liberia and Ethiopia.

    Rebecca is a professional in finance and management with more than 25 years of experience both in private organizations and international NGOs in the field of office administration and financial management. With this vast experience she got a chance to develop her knowledge and skills by working in various donor funded projects with different INGOs like EU, ECHO, USAID and UNOCHA.

    Habtamu Worku has more than 15 years experiences in INGO, government and private companies where he applies strong logistics and shipping expertise to provide guidelines and recommendations to achieve objectives. Through the years, he has built and maintained strong relations with customers and logistic suppliers. Moreover his supply chain service delivery and emergency response knowledge and experience are great assets to Cordaid and implementing partners.

    Yonas is a development professional with background in economics , he has a more than 15 years professional experience of program management both in government and NGO settings with rich expertise in the areas of Resilience Building, Market System Development, Financial inclusion, Development of Business Entities & Community-Based Organizations. He is a very positive and naturally motivated person with ability to constructively engage with  diverse stakeholders to contribute towards development of communities.

    Teklebrihan Hailu Beyene

    Resilience and Livelihoods Programme Officer

    Teklebirhan Hailu is the Resilience and livelihoods programme officer/ expert for  Cordaid Ethiopia, Responsible in planning, coordinating, providing technical support for effective implementation of multi-sector projects. Teklebirhan has BSC in Natural Resource Management (Jimma University ) with over 11 years experience in NGOs (7 years in Cordaid). He has  extensive experience  in the field of  resilience livelihood, Agriculture, Watershed and Natural Resource Management,  DRR and Climate Change Adaptation, Small ScaleIrrigation,  Integrated Risk Management, Conflict Risk Reduction  interventions Teklebirhan has skills in the capacity building of local  organizations , province and woreda level government staffs on Resilience livelihood, Climate Smart Agriculture, Integrated watershed development planningNRM, CMDRR & CCA , Agroforestry and irrigation and Conflict Risk Analysis, Conflict resolution and Complaint and response handling Mechanisms.

Lidya has an experience within Cordaid as she has been assisting a vast range of projects the organization has been implementing from Humanitarian to development projects, because of this, she has gained experience on how to mainstream gender transformative approaches within projects.

    Communications Officer

    Sena is a Communications Officer at the Cordaid Ethiopia Country Office, since March 2022. She graduated from Addis Ababa University with a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a master’s degree in organizational leadership. Sena has certifications in graphic design, photography, content creation, web development, institutional funding, report writing, skill development and others. She is a passionate content creator who enjoys working on virtual communication through different platforms and technology. Sena always have a talent for creative expression through design and photography, which she was able to channel through her volunteer work and her regular assignments. She also volunteers in humanitarian, development, and youth organizations in her spare time. Outdoor activities, nature, technology, photography, advocacy, and leadership are all things she enjoys.
